I am writing a note to thank you for all your help in purchasing my new 2040XP Fuelwood Processor on October 11, 1987.
The main reason for wanting one was to help eliminate labor cost per cord and make the job safer. I was not looking for big volume, only about 500 face cord. This blends in with my logging operation and I needed more time to concentrate on this than in the wood pile. Prior to the 2040XP, I used a large commercial splitter and four to six, Stihl 075 chain saws. Myself in one splitting could do 20-30 face cord a day. The 2040XP does this in half the time and a lot cheaper and safer. We’re ready to go back to the woods after running the 2040XP instead of moaning about our backs being sore or spending time repairing saws.
We now have just hit 100 hours on the 2040XP. I would like to give you my report on fuel, the times I changed the chain and bar oil used to process 375 face cords of 16-inch wood. We used the six and eight way wedges. The logs were 10 to 20 inches plus in diameter. We use 130 gallons of fuel and 7 gallons of bar oil. We sharpened the saw chain fifteen times and we use the beavertail bar because a lot of the wood is bigger than 16-inch diameter.
So far the machine is flawless, very safe and will do dirty or frozen wood that I would never touch with my chainsaw. Even my wife runs the machine and admires how safe and efficient woodcutting can be.
In early March of 1988, H. Bigham Enterprises of Ontario, Canada and his wife stopped to look at the 2040XP. They had been thinking about different wood processors and how this one compared to others he had seen. He was going to stay about one hour but it was a good six hours before he left with his wife. He was very convinced by the time he left that this was the machine for his business.
I spent two years going to shows looking at various machines. This is why I told him this was the best. It is the safest processor built. The saw shuts off after each cut and you sit away from it and can see all your work where you sit. The other machines don’t come close. It is the only machine with a complete parts and service manual and you don’t have to worry about repairs by someone else. Mr. Bigham said that was also important. Your service is just like it’s down the road from us. A man can’t ask for more.
Mr. Bigham was really impressed when he ran the machine himself. That was the convincer. He told his wife and me that this was the machine he wanted. It is the only way to go. He was very excited. We enjoyed showing them how the machine works and also how much we like it.
If you ever need any help to sell the machine like mine, please send them our way. We would be more than happy to help sell them the best!!!
Sincerely,
