SAWMILLERS NOW RECOVER “SAW BOLTS” FOR YOUR MILL AND PRODUCE FIREWOOD WITH NEW OPTION.

Prentice, Wisconsin (April-2004) - There are valuable saw logs hidden in your pulpwood.  The firewood processor with the “Bolt Retriever” log bypass tip pan attachment option will process low-grade hardwood logs into marketable firewood and simultaneously recover pallet log material or “bolts” for your sawmill. The “Bolt Retriever” log bypass tip pan attachment used in conjunction with Multitek Model’s 2020LDCS, 2025LDCS or Model 2040XP2 Firewood Processor allows for simple method of recovery of saw bolts from pulpwood.

To configure this option our Model FWC-30’ Firewood Conveyor is set at a 90° angle between the Multitek Firewood Processor and the “Bolt Retriever”. Raw log material is run through one at a time and as they pass through the processor the log is evaluated by the firewood processor operator, measured, cut to desired “bolt” length, transferred to the “Bolt Retriever” log bypass tip-pan, directed away from the firewood processor and then ejected out onto a bunk or dropped directly to a green chain. After the logs are cut into "bolts of desired length" they are then recovered to be sawn into the cants from the lower grade firewood logs. The remainder of the firewood grade raw log is sawed to the desired firewood length and split into firewood and loaded directly to awaiting truck or trailer. With the increasing demand for higher recovery of log bolts and a limited hardwood saw timber resource, it is essential that producers maximize the best log grade recovery and dollars for every tree cut.  For further product information on this new machine option please contact Multitek, Inc at 1-800-243-5438.
